About
People end up without stable housing for a plethora of reasons. PTSD from military trauma, being kicked out by queerphobic parents, inflation of rent prices, and plenty more. Not having housing leads to physical and mental health problems, worsening off individuals who fall into this particular poverty trap at zero or minor fault of their own, and burdening taxpayers on whom the burden falls to pay for their homelessness-caused ER visits. The costs to tax-paying citizens of these after-the-fact measures are actually higher in the long run than paying for housing up front.
