The goal of this activism is to put pressure on businesses, governmental organizations, charities, websites, etc. to make their forms accessible to people of all genders.
Try to deduce who would be responsible for deciding how gender data is collected, and find the contact information for somebody as close to that role as possible. This could simply be the site admin or perhaps there is a generic inbox for contact requests.
Write a message to them. An approachable way to educate is to concisely explain how a given form's question is exclusionary, and how that exclusion makes you or people you know feel. For instance, if Mr. and Mrs. as the only titles, and you're nonbinary, you could relate your experience of being erased from forms because your title of Mx. is not included.
In your message, include resources that explain how to be inclusive, namely:
How to Ask About Gender in Forms Respectfully by Ruth Dillon-Mansfield.
Consider the values and loyalties of the entity you're requesting update their form. Try to frame your request in their language, in values that you know they align with. Avoid being antagonistic or arguing core beliefs; rather, explain how being inclusive fits with their own existing principles.
