• About

  Magnova Maps provides an interface for mapping locations and their direct subdivisions. You can add locations one by one if you have their geoJSON geometry, or you can batch add all a place's sublocations if you have a geoJSON FeatureCollection.

  There are a variety of tools for finding geoJSON, finding other formats for location boundaries, and converting those other formats to geoJSON. This page can be used to describe strategies for populating the Magnova database.

  When Local Projects are implemented, it will become possible to create versions of this project for any Location that is missing sublocations.

  A more automated option would use the Overpass Turbo API to query locations by the next admin_level down, and when somebody creates data attached to that location, the location is added along with its parents (recursively, until getting to an already-saved location).
