  Trees are a key carbon regulator for the global climate, and the more the better. However, it's important to remember that trees take many years to develop into new ecosystems capable of capturing a significant amount of carbon dioxide, meaning it is important for the long term, but additional, more rapid means of reducing CO2 in the atmosphere must be deployed in the very near future (such as mechanical trees).
