Money is fundamentally problematic. Its universality and the incentive in its generally capitalist ecosystem for it to expand its domain of control have led to money being a gateway between people and living essentials. Creating a moneyless economy is paramount to providing people the freedom to live lives that are meaningful, unburdened by fear for survival.
If you don't believe that, then don't worry about this project. Its purpose is not to destroy or dismantle anything, except through obsoletion. By creating a robust, adaptive, morally agreeable, productive, generative, protective, and sustainable manner of producing and distributing resources, and by organizing and incentivizing this production without enforcement, a community can be grown to provide living essentials and other commodities for free to those who need them.
How to implement a moneyless economy is a broad question, and many groups are attempting to do this through a number of mutually/socially beneficial actions. Moneyless Society has collected links to numerous projects and resources that are working to create Resource-Based Economy. Open source projects all inherently contribute to this ecosystem and integrating the information they've generated is critical. Sourcing materials is a prime question that motivates green engineering using waste and any freely accessible material like dirt, wood, or crops. Open-source mapping of a sustainable supply chain will enable a geospatial efficiency that is today neglected by most large corporations, who profit immensely from cheap overseas labor and market colonialism.
The Accumulation of Freedoms is a collection of writings on the history of alternative economies that could prove insightful.
