Veblen goods are typically high-quality goods that are made well, and are considered a status symbol to affluent consumers. Veblen goods give off a almost mythical Brand Status that increase the prestige of the owner over members of the same social class. Veblen goods appear to violate the Law of Demand because the higher the price of a good the more people want it.
