Natural rainwater harvesting is using specific techniques to help water not run off, but instead help it slow down to seep into the soil and help replenish water tables and water vegetation. There are many techniques to do this, using rock berms, using swales and ditches, or making terraces on sloped areas. Many indigenous cultures used natural rainwater harvesting to mitigate drought, replenish water supplies, and also regenerate the environment.
